Fishlog Guides How to Find Chatlog.
SA-MP Create a file of all the text that you see in the chat thread this file is called chatlog.txt
To make Fishlog work correctly it must locate chatlog.txt the typical location for this is
C:\Users\%user%\Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files\SAMP
Fishlog attempts to locate this file automatically but may not always be successful.
To manually locate chatlog.txt on the Toolbar Click on “Chatlog” then Search.
Fishlog will start searching for chatlog.txt if located double click on the result to select.
If No results are found run SAMP then quit to ensure the existence of chatlog.txt
Then Click “Research” and select you C drive, or if you have moved your “My Documents” folder to another drive pick that on.
If you select “My Computer” it may take a very long time to complete the search.
Fishlog may appear to be “Not Responding” this is normal while searching for chatlog.txt and please be patient.
To verify you have the correct chatlog.txt file on the toolbar click “Chatlog” then “View”
This will open the selected Chatlog file in notepad and allow you to verify if is correct.
Once Fishlog has found chatlog.txt is will say “Fishlog Ready” Please note this does not always mean Fishlog is configure correctly just that it thinks it is.
To be sure Fishlog is reading chatlog.txt from your game on the toolbar click Play “Server 1” and allow game to start.
Once you see “SA-MP 0.3z Started” in the games chat thread press the PAUSE/BREAK key or ALT+TAB back to Fishlog.
At this point you should see “SA-MP 0.3z Started” inside Fishlog followed by more game text.
If you see game text inside Fishlog then the automation will be able to work.

Troubleshooting

If Fishlog is unable to read chatlog.txt there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue.
Delete Fishlog.ini this will revert Fishlog back to defaults.
Delete C:\Users\%user%\Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files\SAMP Folder and rerun SAMP to recreate this folder and chatlog.txt
Reinstall GTA SA and SAMP to a Clean Location, and remove the two mentioned above.
Running Fishlog as administrator, this should not be necessary but my workaround some file permission issues.
Try a compatibility version of Fishlog. Version of Fishlog ending in 99 have be fixes mostly related to Windows 8 but some Windows 7 users mentioned it resolved there issues.

For Example version 5.41 and 5.499 are very similar but version 5.499 saves its Fishlog.ini file in the same folder as the exe not in My Docs like version 5.41.
